Jen has experience assisting individuals in a large range of developmental stages, cultures, and backgrounds helping them to facilitate change in many facets of life. She believes in providing a safe, collaborative, authentic and compassionate experience, addressing mind, body and spirit. Jen understands the importance of establishing a trusting, non-judgmental and respectful relationship with the individual and their family. Jen has practiced clinically in academic, inpatient and outpatient settings.

Jen’s Specialties

Jen has a professional interest in working with the LGBTQ+ Community and couples along with grief and loss, pet bereavement, suicide loss survivors, trauma, and interpersonal/relationship issues. She works with adolescent through senior members of the community.

Real World Experiences

Jen has an extensive background working in the health field as an EMT-I and nuclear medicine technologist. As a mental health counselor, she has experience working one-on-one with her clients as well as co-facilitating behavioral, psychoeducational and support groups. Jen also encourages the exploration of complementary techniques using art therapy, yoga, meditation, body work, reflexology, creative expression, equine therapy, pet therapy and thinking outside the box to meet her client’s needs.

In 2018 Jen completed a study abroad program to Agra & Varanasi, India giving her the opportunity to further nurture her cross-cultural skills which enhances her current practice.

Jen continues to be involved in her community as a Marian University Alumni Board Member.


Jen holds a National Counselor Certification (NCC) and has completed a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh – one of only a few graduate programs in the State of Wisconsin that meet CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs) standard of excellence. Jen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Expressive/Therapeutic Arts from Marian University. Completed trainings include: Motivational Interviewing, Suicide Loss Survivor Support Groups, Transgender/Non-binary, Gottman Couples Counseling- Level 1, S.A.F.E. Training, Trauma Informed Care, Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Counseling, and Yoga Instructor Training.
