Novo Counseling is a Sheboygan based group of independently contracted mental health practitioners who have experience working with a variety of different concerns and mental health diagnoses. Each therapist makes their own schedule. You will have direct access to your therapist. If you do not know which therapist to select, we will gladly help you select the best fit.

VIEW DIONE'S BIO

Dione Gisch established Novo Counseling in 2001 and has over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist. The majority of her life has been spent serving young adults, adults, and senior members of her community. Her experiences include work with nursing home residents, physical medicine, rehabilitation patients, survivors of sexual abuse, and homeless women and their children. She also has over ten years of experience as a paramedic, working with individuals in crisis as well as emergency and medical providers. Dione's burning desire is to abolish the negative stigma associated with mental illness.

Real World Experiences

Dione has worked as a professional caregiver and CNA. She has a strong appreciation for silent battles fought in the medical and service-oriented fields. She worked as a volunteer EMT, as well as a full-time paramedic for over 10 years. Dione has been trained in basic and advanced Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). She was involved in the establishment of a county-wide CISM team, serving as a paramedic peer-support member. Outside of private practice, Dione continues to work as a crisis response specialist.

Education

Dione Gisch holds a Master's of Arts Degree from Marquette University in Counseling (Community Counseling emphasis). It is one of only a few graduate programs in the State of Wisconsin that meets CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs) standard of excellence. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP), and a Certified Member of the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC). In addition to her professional licensure, Dione is trained as a Level I EMDR Clinician and is trained in the use of the Amelia Virtual Reality (VR) Tool. She is Novo Counseling’s Clinical Director, supervises post-master’s degree graduates, and participates in regular professional training and consultation throughout the year.
